A solid base is the difference between turf that lasts and turf that fails early. We excavate 3-4", lay 2-3" of crusite or limestone screenings, and compact it flat with a plate compactor. Turf gets secured with 6" galvanized nails every 4-6" along edges and seams.

Seams are aligned so the grain runs the same direction and the finish stays consistent across the yard.

Infill helps the blades stand up and adds weight to keep the turf stable. We typically use clean silica sand for a natural feel and solid drainage. If the area needs extra stability, we can add heavier infill based on the site and use.
